The Mortgage Processor/Jr Collector is responsible for providing quality customer service by obtaining necessary documentation for underwriting/closing a mortgage loan file including ordering third party documentation and communicating directly with the customer and/or loan officer in a professional and effective manner. In addition, 50% of this position involves performing loss mitigation functions, including early collections, workout, foreclosure and bankruptcy management for the Bank. The position is expected to locate, contact, communicate with, make recommendations to struggling or delinquent borrowers.    


  • Obtain, verify and assemble a complete loan package in proper order for underwriting.
  • Perform a thorough analysis of borrower’s credit, employment, income and assets as required by the particular program before submitting the file to the underwriter
  • Directly communicate with Mortgage Loan Originator, customer, and underwriter in person, writing and/or by telephone in order to obtain initial and missing documentation required to process the loan, including but not limited to income information, asset information, credit authorization, trust agreements, purchase agreements, etc.
  • Review and prepare loans in compliance within RESPA, TIL, HMDA, Reg. B, etc. (all mortgage related regulations)
  • Minimize potential losses on delinquent loans by contacting borrowers to work toward resolution of a delinquency in accordance with Bank and legal guidelines.
  • Meet assigned collection contacts set forth by management

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years residential mortgage processing experience required.
  • Must have general FHLMC, FNMA, FHA, USDA, VA knowledge
  • General knowledge of all mortgage, consumer and servicing regulations required.
  • Previous experience with Calyx Point LOS preferred
  • Previous Fiserv Navigator experience preferred
  • Prior collection experience preferred but not required
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Available to work varying hours and overtime if needed.
  • Work effectively in a fast pace environment with low tolerance for error
  • Work effectively in a team environment
