  • Overview

    A Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for performing routine operational duties related to residential, construction and consumer loans in compliance with the Bank's policies, procedures and related state and federal laws and regulations. Assist in boarding loans; conducts loan funding’s and processes payments or advances as directed; distributes daily and monthly reports; and promotes business for the bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new and existing services.

    Responsibilities

    • Researches customer issues and responds to customer inquiries in a friendly and timely manner
    • Processes loan advances and loan payments
    • Processes escrow insurance, tax payments and annual analysis
    • Sets up all loan types on the core system
    • Ensures adherence to bank policy and regulatory requirements
    • Quotes and processes loan payoffs and partial pay down for all loan types and prepares full and partial release discharges
    • Tracks expired flood, hazard and condominium polices and past due real estate taxes, contacts tax collectors/insurance agents and sends letters to customers
    • Assists in records management and data integrity reviews - creates Excel spreadsheets
    • Assists Accounting and other departments related to the loan portfolio
    • Continually looks for ways to improve and streamline all aspects of loan servicing
    • Provides back up to the Loan Servicing Team Lead

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent experience
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience servicing mortgages and loans preferred
    • Prior secondary market experience with Freddie Mac and/or Fannie Mae preferred
    • Preferred experience with Fiserv Premier core servicing system
    • Detail oriented
    • Good organizational and analytical skills
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic email and fax functions
    • Must have excellent customer service and phone skills
