  • Overview

    Responsible for the smooth operations of loan processing within the Commercial Lending Department. Provides administrative assistance to commercial lenders and internal and external auditors. Supervise and provide training and guidance to other loan administrators. Maintain a constant state of audit readiness. Inputs and updates loan data into financial institution computer system; assembles and verifies loan documents for accuracy.


    • Responsible for the overseeing and entering commercial loan processing activities for the department. (Heavy Data Entry)
    • Provides administrative assistance to the commercial lenders and other staff.
    • Update and enter loan data into the financial institution’s computer system and assembling documentation for commercial loans.
    • Ensure all loan files contain all required documents including proper signatures, dates and other relevant data.
    • Verify credit approval documents and accuracy of loan documents prior to scheduling of closing.
    • Prepares and generates all loan and related documents to assure efficiency and completeness for loan closing in the proper time sequences.
    • Performs required clerical duties to maintain new and current commercial loan files.
    • Uses knowledge of departmental procedures to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
    • Provide customer service internally to all branches and externally to customers. Answers telephone and written inquiries concerning loan processing and information.
    • Attend loan closings in Corporate Headquarters and provide support to the lenders during this process.
    • Reporting responsibilities, reports to department head and actively generates reports as needed in the following areas: new loans, closed loans, past due loan payments, exception reports and others as assigned.
    • Responsible for addressing internal and external audit findings in regards to loan operations.
    • Ensures loan operations area complies with all internal and external guidelines as required.
    • Administer to records related to foreclosures, charge offs, tax delinquencies, tax payments, approval of loan transactions tickets
    • Schedule loan closing dates with bank customers and attorneys to ensure a prompt professional closing process.
    • Other duties as assigned: Audit Prep, Loan payments/incoming & outgoing wires, Scanning, system rate changes, NYBDC payments, tax monitoring, floor plans, creating and enhancing procedures, HMDA log & reporting, Flood, Force placing insurance, satisfaction & discharges, Insurance, UCC, Recording documents, MV901, UCC3’s and terminations.


    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
    • Five to seven years commercial lending and loan processing experience. Preferred.
    • Successful completion of in-house training program (if available) or approved outside training program.
    • Understanding of financial institution products and services.
    • Knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment.
    • Computer literacy including basic skills in spreadsheet and word processing programs.
    • Excellent communication skills.
